Overview
Guest Experience Assurance gives teams confidence that guests are able to get online smoothly and that each location’s SocialSign.in setup is working as expected.
While Cisco Meraki provides strong network and device-level visibility, Guest Experience Assurance focuses specifically on the guest journey after a location is connected to SocialSign.in. It helps enterprise teams and support staff quickly confirm that guests can connect, that the Meraki SSID settings still align with the required SocialSign.in configuration, and that recent guest activity does not show signs of splash-page, login, or connection issues.
The goal is to provide a simple, guest-focused view of Wi-Fi experience health, so teams can spot potential issues early and have peace of mind that the guest-facing experience is operating correctly.
The dashboard is designed to answer three practical questions:
-
Are guests getting online successfully?
Guest Experience Assurance summarizes the current guest Wi-Fi experience with a simple health status, clear messaging, and quick indicators of whether guests are connecting as expected. -
Is the SocialSign.in setup still configured correctly in Meraki?
Configuration checks validate the active Meraki SSID, splash page, RADIUS, and walled garden settings against the expected SocialSign.in requirements, helping teams catch accidental changes before they affect guests. -
Has anything changed that needs attention?
Trends, visit activity, alerts, and event logs help teams understand whether an issue is new, recurring, isolated to one location, or part of a broader pattern.
What the dashboard shows
Guest Experience Assurance combines Meraki API data with SocialSign.in configuration records to provide a location-level view of guest Wi-Fi health. Depending on the data available for each Meraki account and network, the dashboard may include:
Overall connection health
A simple green, yellow, red, or unknown status based on recent guest activity, configuration checks, and available network signals.
Location status
Per-location visibility into the connected SSID, Meraki network, access point status, recent guest counts, splash activity, connection indicators, and configuration tags.
Configuration assurance
Status tags that show whether the Meraki settings still align with the expected SocialSign.in configuration or need attention.
Trends
Recent health, guest activity, splash, and connection trend indicators where enough data is available.
Visit length
Average guest visit time, along with visit categories such as Quick, Short, Extended, and Long.
Events
A chronological log of recent health events, configuration drift, access point status changes, and restored conditions.
Alert preferences
Controls for enabling or disabling assurance alerts for configured locations, when available for the account.
Some Meraki networks may not expose every analytics field. For example, domain or application traffic attribution may require Traffic Analysis with Hostname Visibility enabled in Meraki. When that data is not available, Guest Experience Assurance can still use available client usage, splash, configuration, and connection data to provide an aggregate view of guest activity and location health.
Health checks performed
The health checker reviews the Meraki configuration and recent network activity for each monitored location. Checks include:
- SSID enabled status
- Splash page configuration
- RADIUS configuration presence
- Walled garden configuration presence
- Access point online/offline status
- Recent clients seen on the network
- Recent splash login attempts
- Recent wireless failed connections
- Recent wireless events, including associations, disassociations, failed authentication, and splash attempts
- Optional Meraki analytics such as top applications, traffic, latency, packet loss, channel utilization, and license overview when available
If the current Meraki settings no longer match the expected SocialSign.in configuration, the dashboard can surface configuration drift so the team knows the SSID may need to be reviewed or reconfigured.
Automatic setup through the Meraki configuration wizard
For most new SocialSign.in Go Meraki installations, Guest Experience Assurance is set up automatically as part of the standard Meraki configuration wizard.
When a client completes the Meraki setup wizard, SocialSign.in saves the Meraki organization, network, SSID, and location mapping needed for ongoing assurance checks. This allows the dashboard to monitor the configured guest Wi-Fi location without requiring a separate manual dashboard setup step.
For full Meraki setup instructions, see Set-up Guest Wi-Fi Marketing with Email Capture on Cisco Meraki with SocialSign.in Go.
Automatic setup flow
- The user opens the Meraki setup wizard from their SocialSign.in account.
- The user enters a Cisco Meraki API key.
- The wizard validates the key and retrieves the available Meraki organizations.
- The user selects the Meraki organization, network, and guest SSID.
- The wizard configures the required guest Wi-Fi settings for SocialSign.in.
- SocialSign.in stores the location mapping used by Guest Experience Assurance.
- The dashboard can then display that location in Guest Experience Assurance once health checks run.
Enterprise clients and existing Meraki deployments
For enterprise clients and existing Meraki deployments, guest Wi-Fi may already be configured before Guest Experience Assurance is enabled. In these cases, clients can use a dedicated assurance setup flow rather than re-running the full SocialSign.in configuration wizard.
When the feature is enabled for the client account, setup begins on the Locations page in the main SocialSign.in app. Eligible locations may display a Configure Assurance option.
Setup steps
- Open the SocialSign.in main app.
- Go to the Locations page.
- Find the location that should be connected to Guest Experience Assurance.
- Select Configure Assurance. This option only appears when Guest Experience Assurance is available for the client account and location.
- Enter the Cisco Meraki API key when prompted.
- Select the correct Meraki organization.
- Select the Meraki network that serves the location.
- Select the guest SSID used for SocialSign.in guest Wi-Fi.
- Save the assurance configuration.
After setup is saved, SocialSign.in stores the Meraki organization, network, SSID, and location mapping for health checks. The location will appear in Guest Experience Assurance after the first successful check.
What Guest Experience Assurance does not do
The assurance setup flow connects an existing location to Guest Experience Assurance. It is not intended to replace the full Meraki configuration wizard for new installs. If a new Meraki guest SSID still needs to be configured for SocialSign.in, use the standard Meraki setup wizard first.
Troubleshooting and notes
- If a location does not appear in Guest Experience Assurance, confirm that the location has been mapped to a Meraki organization, network, and SSID.
- If the dashboard shows configuration drift, review the Meraki SSID settings or rerun the configuration process if appropriate.
- If traffic, application, or domain details are missing, confirm whether the Meraki network has the required visibility features enabled.
- If the Configure Assurance option is missing from the Locations page, confirm that the client account has access to Guest Experience Assurance.
