Overview
This guide walks through setting up a guest Wi-Fi marketing portal with email capture on Ruckus One using SocialSign.in Go. Ruckus One has built-in support for SocialSign.in, making configuration straightforward. Setup typically takes under 30 minutes.
What You'll Need
- Access to your Ruckus One dashboard
- A SocialSign.in Go account (sign up here)
Step 1: Create the Guest WLAN
In Ruckus One, create a new WLAN. Name your guest network and select Captive Portal as the authentication method, then click Next.
Step 2: Select Portal Type
Choose 3rd Party Captive Portal (WISPr) as the portal type. This enables external captive portal integration with SocialSign.in. Click Next to continue.
Step 3: Configure SocialSign.in Settings
On the Settings page, SocialSign.in will already be available as a pre-configured option. Select it and choose your region. This will automatically populate:
- Captive portal URL
- Redirect URL
- Authentication server IP
The auth server IP is set automatically and cannot be edited.
Step 4: Configure Walled Garden & Additional Settings
At the bottom of the settings page, enter any walled garden destinations if appropriate for your deployment. Then expand "Show more settings" and review each tab to make any additional configuration adjustments needed for your environment (VLANs, band steering, etc.).
Step 5: Assign to Site
Click Next to proceed to site assignment. Select the site(s) where you want this WLAN applied, and configure specific bands and/or AP groups as needed.
Step 6: Verify
Once saved, connect a device to the new guest SSID. You should be redirected to the SocialSign.in branded portal where guests can authenticate and provide their email address.
