Overview
This guide walks you through connecting your HubSpot account to SocialSign.in Go so that guest Wi-Fi sign-ins automatically sync to your HubSpot lists. Setup takes under 10 minutes.

What You'll Need
- A HubSpot account
- A SocialSign.in Go account with at least one active location
- Your HubSpot Private App access token (API key)
Step 1: Create a HubSpot Private App
SocialSign.in connects to HubSpot using a Private App access token. To create one:
- In HubSpot, go to Settings → Integrations → Private Apps
- Click Create a private app
- Give it a name (e.g., "SocialSign.in Wi-Fi")
- Under the Scopes tab, grant the following permissions:
- crm.objects.contacts — Read and Write
- crm.lists — Read and Write
- Click Create app, then copy the access token shown
Note: If your HubSpot account previously used a legacy API key, HubSpot has migrated to Private App tokens. You'll need to create a Private App as described above.
Step 2: Configure the Integration in SocialSign.in
- Sign in to your SocialSign.in client app
- Navigate to Integrations → HubSpot
- Paste your HubSpot Private App access token into the API Key field
- Select the SocialSign.in locations you'd like to connect
- Choose which HubSpot list each location should sync contacts to
- Click Save
Step 3: Verify
After a guest connects to your Wi-Fi and completes the sign-in, confirm that new contacts are appearing in your HubSpot list.
Optional Settings
- Update existing contacts: Choose whether to update existing HubSpot contacts when a returning guest signs in
- Tags: Automatically tag contacts synced from Wi-Fi for easy segmentation
- Send events: Forward Wi-Fi sign-in events to HubSpot for use in workflows and reporting
Troubleshooting
Contacts not appearing in HubSpot?
- Verify your Private App access token is correct and hasn't been revoked
- Check that the required scopes (crm.objects.contacts and crm.lists) are enabled on your Private App
- Confirm your SocialSign.in locations are selected on the integration settings page
- Confirm a HubSpot list is selected for each location
