Overview
This guide walks you through connecting your Mailchimp account to SocialSign.in Go so that guest Wi-Fi sign-ins automatically sync to your Mailchimp audiences. Setup takes under 10 minutes.

What You'll Need
- A Mailchimp account
- A SocialSign.in Go account with at least one active location
- A Mailchimp API key
Step 1: Generate a Mailchimp API Key
- Sign in to your Mailchimp account
- Click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner, then select Account & billing
- Go to the Extras dropdown and select API keys
- Scroll to the Your API keys section and click Create A Key
- Give it a descriptive name (e.g., "SocialSign.in Wi-Fi") and copy the generated key
Important: The API key is only shown once when created. Copy it immediately and store it securely.
Step 2: Configure the Integration in SocialSign.in
- Sign in to your SocialSign.in client app
- Navigate to Integrations → Mailchimp
- Paste your Mailchimp API key into the API Key field
- Select the SocialSign.in locations you'd like to connect
- Choose which Mailchimp audience each location should sync contacts to
- Click Save
Step 3: Verify
After a guest connects to your Wi-Fi and completes the sign-in, confirm that new contacts are appearing in your Mailchimp audience.
Optional Settings
- Update existing contacts: Choose whether to update existing Mailchimp contacts when a returning guest signs in
- Tags: Automatically tag contacts synced from Wi-Fi for easy segmentation
Troubleshooting
Contacts not appearing in Mailchimp?
- Verify your API key is correct — go to Account & billing → Extras → API keys in Mailchimp to confirm it's active
- Make sure the API key hasn't been disabled or regenerated since you entered it
- Confirm your SocialSign.in locations are selected on the integration settings page
- Confirm a Mailchimp audience is selected for each location
- Check that the guest's email isn't already unsubscribed or cleaned in your Mailchimp audience (Mailchimp won't re-add unsubscribed contacts)
